Dr. Bernstein is a native of Miami, Florida. He is a 1992 graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bernstein has a long history of research pursuits at both Harvard Dental School and Harvard Medical School. He has authored several basic science and dental research articles in academic journals.
Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Bernstein practiced general dentistry in Miami Springs, Florida with his father for eight years. He then decided to pursue advanced training in endodontics and completed a certificate in endodontics in 2002 at the University of Louisville. He has been a practicing endodontist for over ten years.
Dr. Bernstein lives in Gainesville with his wife, a professor at the University of Florida. He has three sons, a daughter, and a yellow Lab. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, jogging, watching the Gators and going to the beach.
